Found this one on top of a snail when the lights went out.. never seen one with the antennas before. First two i found were much larger. This one was captured with a macro lens in a bowl and it still looks small. Same cirolanid? Not sure if theres a difference between male/female. Any help would be great.

Started stinky water trapping these suckers. Still would like some input if anyones lurking thats dealt with these before. When you set the stinky water trap, do you shut off your flow and pour the stinky water directly over where the trap is with the other stinky water? My flow has stayed on, and when i pour the water i can see them come out and go after the scent of the water moving in the column, but they dont seem to make it to the trap. I sucked out about 6 of them when i saw them, but so far no luck getting them into the trap.

Sorry for not replying here in about a week, not much to report. Corals will be here Wednesday! Also, tonight was the first night since finding the isopods that I or my wife were unable to find any. Usually every night, theres 1 or 2 that we can find and suck out. The last 2 weeks or so i’ve been utilizing the stinky water method and have been able to get 5-6 out in that period. Last night we were able to get 3 out, and tonight we hadnt found any. I’m going to wait a long time still, but things are looking up!

Picked up some zoas/leptoseris this weekend that also had a red monti on it! Pretty excited about it since the lepto is a big frag and it was $20 for basically both :) the orange zoas i picked up, as well as the green ones, and the one with 2-3 different zoas on it. Birdsnest is super happy where i put it, and the monti grows every time i look at it i swear.
Acro didnt make it. Just cant seem to give those the absolutely perfect water chemistry they need lol.

Nice setup man! I'm about to start a similar build
Thats awesome! Its always exciting starting for the first time. While it can be stressful, its so rewarding when you see what you were able to create.

Tank is doing well! Pretty much everything is still alive and growing great, except for the ahhmazing echinata from WWC. My favorite piece from the sale and its the one that dies.. im not sure if it was just the area i kept it in, as ive never had issues with them before.

A plus that im super excited for is that i havent seen isopods in what feels like forever. Stinky water methods, spot checking at different times of the night periodically, nothing. My goal was to have my first fish in here by Thanksgiving, so hopefully i don't see any more! Whats funny is my wife told me it’s actually boring now because she has nothing to hunt at night lol

I'm waiting for my 20 cube right now and taking notes. How has the ato reservoir worked for you? Is it big enough? Anything you would've done differently?

Ato resevoir has been awesome! You know, coming from a diy 40 breeder and having to go from my old laundry room with a container and bring it over to the tank to manually fill it, i’d say its been a game changer. The resevoir lasts about 6 days. Keep in mind our apartment currently is like 67*f or so. In the summer when it stays around 75, the heater kicks on less and i noticed less evaporation when i first set it up than i do now. I think it lasted around 8 days when i first set the tank up, but i never really counted. Could just be my imagination lol.

Good to know, thanks!
Any regrets or other purchases you couldn't live without now that it's been running? I should be picking up my QT tank today, I think I'm going to use it to start cycling.

Honestly.. just the TBS rock and the ato alone have been huge in not only the stability of the tank, but the life IN the tank. Probably wont ever set up a tank without these two things again.

Some good news!! Beat my battle with cirolanid isopods. Added a cool little davinci clownfish and a royal gramma. Named both flip and finn. Finn is the clownfish, and flip is the gramma. Its crazy what you take for granted some times. The isopods made me have a new appreciation for just being able to go out and get fish. I felt like a little kid again actually being able to pick them out!
Heres some current pics. Birdsnest and dragon soul are still alive, but i had some troubles with too little and too much light on both, so theyre recovering slowly.

I also started dosing 3ML of ab+ that i got when i bought the fish. So far seems to be doing really good things as far as giving the corals what they need on top of their normal trace elements. Bringing the birdsnest back to life quicker as well. Time will tell, it’s only been about 2 days.
