The colors have faded significantly in both corals. I’m assuming it’s just part of getting used to the new tank.

And after lights out I saw some worms coming out of the rock piece. Look like bristle to me. They were small yet but still gross.

Currently looking to add a small Duncan frag, some zoas and more mushrooms. Time to start collecting!

. Truckin along. Retesting shows zeros across the board still. Just put in an order with a local guy for a tye dye shroom, fire shroom and another hairy mushroom. Def want to find a small acan and maybe cyphastrea as well.

Much to my daughter’s delight we added two blue legged hermits, two small turbo snails and two nerites snails to combat some diatoms. Tommy and Toa named for the crab in Moana.

Everything’s happy. Got some GSP and three zoas ( Rasta and fire n ice) from a local reefer and then another hairy shroom, a tye dye shroom and a fire shroom from another. Zoas and GSP are fully open so that’s a great indicator they re happy with the tank conditions. I’ll add more pics under blues later on.

imo any coral that you can feed and can take food directly would give you a higher chance of success. 2nd I also like those that are not so aggressive. with that in mind I have few suggestions which come in many color options and over time as it grow will over take rock works as it's own structure.

  • Acans
  • Blasto
  • Duncan
  • Candy cane
i prefer these over favia as they are more aggressive. if you directly feed any of the two I mentioned, they will produce extra heads in matter of weeks/months. Candy cane will take food but it's slightly more work for them to hold food. Duncan is limited in color. my preference is acans and blasto.

Others may suggest hammer, frogspawn or torches. i find these need lots of space, moderate flow and don't take food directly readily.

Button scolys could be cool in this tank too. That Hollywood stunner chalice is super quick growing your whole rock should be covered by it in 6 months lol.

Acans are a definite as are candy canes and a Duncan. Blastos look neat too. Thanks for the suggestions.

WC change day. Happy tiny tank. Everything’s open and the zoas are all growing new heads. The stunner has grown 12 new mouths and the mushrooms are all happy and huge. Minus the ticked neon hairy shroom. I think crabs are ticking him off.

np. I had noticed blastos are just slightly slower grower than acans. They also seem to be a slight more aggressive than acans as I have one touching each other and the acans have retracked somewhat. I am not 100% certain as it's in a relatively medium flow area and could be because of that. I prefer blastos just because they have more fleshy polyps

Careful with adding LPS to such a small tank, that is going to up the difficulty. You will need to start monitoring CA and KH, and add supplements or water change when needed. Most LPS have sweeper tentacles which can reach out there and sting other corals.

Looking great overall!
