@wonroc I'm interested in how you modified your lid and set up your fans for cooling, do you have a thread about that on here? Did you follow anyone's instructons or just kind of went on your own and figured out what worked?

It all starts with the

Inkbird ITC-308 Digital Temperature Controller 2-Stage and a pair of usb pc fans.

I used a dremmel tool to widen the rear hole until the fans fit. I attached them to the removable rear piece. They plug into the inkbird with the heater. This inkbird heats and cools automatically. And i must say the fans work great to cool the tank. A fellow reef2reef member put me onto the inkbird. I modded the hood in my garage slowly. With the dremmel its easy to grind away an opening slowly.

Nice! I have the same tank as well! Awesome fish and coral! I'm so jealous you have so many reef stores that can ship so quickly haha. May I ask what light settings you use? Im starting to get brown algae since I started, and a lot of places mention lights being a huge contributor!

Also if you have any tips or advice, here's my build thread!
Im in jersey. 95percent of my coral ships from san diego california

What size power head do you have? I have 2 240’s where yours are located (1 on each side of tank)but i feel like its not moving enough water judging by how food is pushed around in the water column etc. thinking of relocating them to the side one up one down, thoughts?

Im a fan of

Voyager Sicce Nano 530 GPH.

Good flow but not too much. Have 2 of them on back wall facing slightly inward. Coraline is now populating the rear wall where there is less flow.

Any kind of pc fans or do you recommend a certain model/brand?

Do you have the fan blowing into the tank or away from the tank?

I ended up getting the s5 last night. No idea what the heck the difference was between the s1 and s5 but the s5 was cheaper for 2 of them...
