I need to update!

I "think" I have beat dinos. I sure hope I did. The tank has been on regular lighting schedule since I finished 1 round of Dr. Tim's dino treatment and I have not really seen dinos since. I see what I HOPE is a little brown film algae but if it's dinos, I know what to do and already have the Dr. Tim's products.
As I think on it, I'm going to do another treatment next week just off of G.P.

I also added the 3 stripe Damsels. About a week after that, I added the Maroon clownfish and the loin fish.
The maroon clown and the cinnamon clown are NOT friends but they mostly stay on their respective sides of the tank.

The lionfish...
He might be a problem! He keeps going after the 2 damsels i had in the tank. They keep out of his way but every now and again, he hunts them.
Glad to see your winning the battle with Dino’s. Looking forward to seeing the new corals, I just ordered some myself, including some Rastas.

It's been a long road and I'm still at the beginning of the road.
I'm seeing something in the rear view though but still waaaaaaaay more road ahead than behind.

I gotta learn how to take better pics.
Are you using a camera or just your phone like I am? My pics are always blurry with my phone except for the stuff that’s close to the glass. I got the Icecap lens filter kit and that helped a lot with the blue light. The phones are just so limited in ability to focus properly, at least mine is.

I'm using my phone. Funny enough, my old tank came out pretty good on phone pics.
I'm going to look into the lens filter.

Thanks for the tip.

Those stylos looks great! And your tank will take off soon I suspect ;)

Nothing like some fast growing Sps. I have the purple and teal right next to each other in my tank, I was hoping they would merge. Instead the purple killed the teal where they touch :(

Yours are beautiful.
I hope mine grows as nicely.

How long have you had them? How much have they grown in that time?

I’ve had them for maybe 8-9 months now, and they grew from tiny frags. The purple one actually started out larger, but was really unhealthy when I got it and took longer to take off. The teal has grown a LOT (right up out of the water!). I’ve traded a frag and transplanted a couple other pieces I accidentally broke off.

Update...

I don't think it was needed but I am in the middle of my 2nd Dr. Tim's dino treatment.
I have not seen any dinos since the last treatment but I figured I would go ahead and hit the tank again just to be proactive.
3 day blackout with Dr. Tim's Refresh is complete and today is the 1st day of doing the Dr. Tim's Waste Away.

I have the 1000L container ready to go for NSW. Just have to fill it up, add salt and figure out what I want to do.
I'm tossed up between continuous water change or periodic water changes.
I will do more research before deciding but advice is always welcome.

My replacement ATI Blue plus bulb is supposed to arrive today. Hopefully this one is not broken.

I stamped down (glued) some corals to permanent spots today. I got tired of my urchins knocking them down and dragging them around the tank. I still have a few more to glue down but I want to be sure I'm happy with their placement and that the corals are happy with my placement.

I got some new additions!
I added another BTA to hopefully keep my large maroon clown occupied. I hope it likes the spot I put it in. Don't really want it walking around all over the tank.

I added a few new corals too.
Black Hornet Zoa
Spiderman Zoa
Pink pin something (I forgot)
Yellow Star Polips

I'm trying to get my softer corals and zoas in place before I go hard with my SPS.
My Yellow Star Polips are on an island so I'm not too worried about them getting out of control.
I'm supposed to get an Elegance coral tomorrow.

I will try to take pics tomorrow afte I have the Elegance in place.
Hopefully I can take better pics than I have previously.

EDIT...
I may wait till Sunday or Monday to take pics. I just ordered my gel filter lenses for taking reef tank pics!

Also,
I'm beginning to dislike UPS. My ATI T5 Blue plus bulb was supposed to be delivered today but they changed delivery date to tomorrow.
Uggggh!

For some reason I’m not getting notified of your updates, had a bit of catching up to do. The tank is looking good and it looks like you’re overcoming your early problems. Nice to see some coral growing in there!

I can't believe it.
I lost an acro.
It did not die, I actually lost it in the tank. It's not on the plug that I painstakingly put in the perfect spot.
Is not on the sandbed in the area of the plug.
Is not on one of my urchins being dragged around the tank.
I lost it?!?
I will look in depth tomorrow with all the flow turned off.

My gel filters did not arrive today as expected.
I'm doing bad when it comes to getting shipments on time and not broken.

Uggggh!

EDIT...

I found my acro this morning!
It was wedged in between 2 Duncan corals. I will attempt to glue it down later today.

I ordered more coral yesterday.
Blue Stylo
Red Acans (colony)
Green Acans (colony)
Rainbow Acans (4 heads)
Assorted Acans (5 heads)
Buttkisser Zoas (5 heads)
War coral
Agent Orange Echinata
Pink/Orange Setosa monti

This should just about conclude soft LPS purchases unless I see something really nice that will complement what I already have.

SPS buying will really begin once all the current corals are settled in, happy and doing their jobs.

Today was the last day for Dr. Tim's treatment.
I will turn my skimmer back on at 12pm and then I can leave it on instead of having to turn it off everyday for 6 to 12 hours.

My PH has taken a hit over the past few days. PH around 7.6 to 7.8 is not normal for my tank. I think it may have to do with the Dr. Tim's and the fact that the skimmer has been off for at least 6 hours everyday for the past 2 weeks. Hopefully being able to run my skimmer 24-7 again will increase the PH back to where it should be..

UPDATE...

New corals in the reef tank. I can now call it a reef because I've got enough coral to justify.

Everything is doing pretty good but everything is still pretty new. I have placed pieces where I think they will do well.
I will be creating a post to this thread that has pics of each coral placed along with its name.

I got my gel filter and expect to take nice pics. I almost want to do underwater pics but even though my Note 10+ says it's water proof, I don't think it's really SALTWATER proof. Maybe I can put it in a zip lock bag and work it out.

Coral list so far...
Rasta Zoas
Gold Ring Zoas
Nevana Zoas
Black Hornet Zoas
Spiderman Zoas
Pink pinwheel Zoas
WWC Purple monsters Zoas
WWC Purple monsters with nirvanas Zoas
JF Punk drunk Zoas
Buttkisser Zoas
Acros
Birds nest
Candy cane (several heads)
Green Monticap
GB Avitar chalice
Mystic sunset monti
Yellow Star Polips
Duncans
Hammer coral
Torch coral
Green tree
Green blastos
Rainbow acans
Red acans
Green acans
Blue stylo
Green stylo
Season Greetings Monti
Buttkisser Zoas (5 heads)
War coral
Agent Orange Echinata
Pink/Orange Setosa monti
Maze Brain coral
Figi Frogspawn

I think that's it.

Pics to come

I don't know if my phone camera is bad or my glass is too thick to take good pics but all my pics look real bad.
I'm going to try a zip lock bag and see if that helps but...
I should not need to do that.

This is frustrating!
