Dj I have a question

can you re link me to that one test run we did years ago where we showed your garage live rock never uncycled the whole time it sat in the garage unfed

remember it still had worms or starfish in it/asterinas that hitched over for 36 mos

I went back and searched threads, that's no longer findable. it was a pretty important cycling thread, /need to find it if you can re link it for me

we have built a skip cycle rock thread and those from that build would be good for addition, rocks that never uncycled and fed themselves for a long time untended.

Edit****** the entire time all the info was in my own cycling thread and I didn’t know because it’s a zillion pages. Your documentation remains flawless.

you still have the longest fallow nitrification proof thread / work I’ve ever seen.

Good comes with bad.

The other yellow coris wrasse did not make it.
I saw him last night with his head up out the sand but it was after lights out so, he was coming out of the sand to die.

He got out the sand and wedged on a rock. No control of swimming at all.

He was way beyond saving and passed in the next 10 minutes.

I let the lionfish have him once it was over.

The Midas Blenny is settling in but still shy and cautious. He has found 2 spots within the rockwork that he likes. One is a deep hole that he slept in, the other is a cave / crevice that he perches in.

I have not seen the Yellow Coris Wrasse or the Timor Wrasse since they hit the sand yesterday. I seriously hope both come up and out healthy and ready for a long life in my display.

My Algagen order arrived last night.
So yesterday, I added two 8oz. bags of Tisbe pods to the system, one 16oz. bag of tisbe pods along with a 16oz. bag of Apocyclops pods. I added the pods to the Pod Population Home and to the Algae Reactor.
Hopefully my Pod Population home does what I need it to do and hopefully I will have a great pod population real soon.

One of my WAV pumps stopped working last week. I contacted Neptune and after some troubleshooting, they are sending me a replacement that "should" arrive today if USPS can set their s**t together.

I hope to be able to take some pics later today.

Nice!!! I really like the Midas Blenny. That’s one to put on my list if I ever get brave enough to put any new fish in my tank.

I've had bad luck with Midas bennies in the past but this guy is right at home in my tank. he's large and he is eating and swimming around when he's not lounging on a rock.

I thin you could have just stopped that sentence at you've had bad luck! dang, you've had some challenges. I'm feeling like my crash wasn't so bad.

What's life without some challenges.

We get knocked down. The important thing is getting back up and back to it!

My goby is doing his thing!
I figure I have about another two weeks or so before he gets to all the sand and the particle storm he kicks up starts to subside.
It's getting better but I miss having a nice clear tank.

In other news...

I placed an order for a Battlecorals BattleBox! I should be getting about 10 corals.
I'm really looking forward to getting it and seeing what he has come up with for me.
Adam at battlecorals was a pleasure to work with.
I sent him pics of my tank and current corals and asked him if he could fill in the blanks according to my rockwork, current corals and anything I might be lacking in color and diversity.
I trust I'm going to be very happy with what he sends me.

I also ordered Easyreefs EasySPS Evo and EasyBooster.
I will be able to feed my corals and copopods throughout the day and night by having the food on my DOS.
I think this is going to work out really well.

And...

Better pics to come.
I will try to take pics tomorrow morning before my goby goes to work.
Lol

That is so sharp and well balanced against algae, all the close up pics show corals and laser clean rocks of the highest quality

I will try to get time lapse pics of some coral growth too.
As I went through old pics, I can see my corals have really grown where in day to day with me just ooking at the tank, I couldn't really see the growth of some corals but...
They absolutely grew!

I can clearly see that my pic taking skills have improved.
Lol

I'm going to take more pics when I get my corals from Battlecorals.
I hope to get them sometime next week when this horrible cold weather and snow and ice let up enough to ship live corals safely and arrive alive.

Everything looks awesome, the tank has come a long way in a year. I have one assignment for you though. That white plumbing for the returns inside the tank has got to go man :p
