A few inches of snow so far, and yesterday morning we had tons of ICE... but it's business as usual in western, NY.
Last year I installed a 220 outlet outside that I could back-feed with a portable generator. I told my wife the purpose was to make sure we could power our well and refrigerator, but that was only part of the reason...
We lost power for a day last winter/spring, so I was glad to have it.

When you buy them, you absolutely need to take pictures and post them. These are lovely.

They've been purchased. I'll be picking them up from Pacific East Aquaculture on Saturday. Dr. Mac said he will be getting a few other pairs in tomorrow, and if i wish, i can have one of those pairs. Here's the pair i'll be getting. These look awesome... I think i'll take 'em. Maybe i'll call them Bonnie & Clyde.;Smuggrin

I am right on the upper reach in central Vermont. They were saying upwards of 7 to 11 inches. We got like 2 or 3 inches in the valleys. It does seem to be following a pattern....Monday/Tuesday storm days.

I can hold off putting the winter tires on for another week.

I'm jealous. I definitely need to buy another tank to house a pair of those. They are beautiful. ;Drool

Eek! Time to get out the snowshoes. My aunt told me today that it snowed 21" in Duluth, MN, (where half of my family is from). I was complaining about turning on the furnace today. I do miss snow storms on occasion.

Yeah - the storm laid down some good base - let us hope there is more.
It’s still coming down up top, but there’s a bit of rain at lake level. I wanted to stay, but my board is dry as a bone and I was getting a lot of snow sticking to it. I was barely moving in the flats. Time to dig out the iron and wax. Still getting out my winter gear and putting away the summer stuff.

Just got back from snowboarding. Got a good bit of snow in Tahoe. Need to wax the old board up for tomorrow.
You suck!! I used to live on the top of Kingubury grade and worked at Boulder lodge for 4 years. Time of my life. The icy crap they call snow here in NC is a far cry from the days living out there.

That’s a great spot. I’m up by cal base. 5 minute walk to the mountain. I’ve had a lot of friends come and go. Tahoe is kind of a “dropping by for a few years” kind of place. 15 years in and I can’t see myself living anywhere else long term. Ski bum for life I guess.

I can’t fathom a reef tank and you live where you live!! You sir have been delt a good hand. Super jealous. I left in 2001 after being there from 1996 and it was the life. I can’t believe how much it has changed since then. When you get dumped on you need to go up to the peak above killabrew canyon at Heavenly (forgot the name but it’s the one around 10500 ev.) hike to the top and drop in out of bounds and you can ride all the way down to Carson Valley and hitch a ride back up the backside of the grade. Amazing ride but it usually only happens once a year. Bring an old board though it get rocky down low. Mis it so much

Haha! You know what you’re talking about! I’ve never dropped that ride, but I’ve been told about it by many. You left a couple years before I got here. Right when the gondola went up and total renovation of “downtown” I think. It seemed like it was all just unfolding when I got here. different world here now. No more sizzler!

Just drive up to Flagstaff. I used to take road trips north in the winter time when I lived in Phoenix....I usually forgot to bring a coat.

The gondola went up year after. I will never forget seeing P funk at Ceasers with my smurfy friends, insane show! Trying to take the wife and kids out next summer. Do they still do the New Years madness where they close off the streets and there is 25000 plus people stumbling around in and out of the casinos?

New Years is still insane here. Takes forever to get a drink. I’ve avoided it for years, but it is still a load of folks. I can hear it a mile away.

That is exactly what we do. We also head up to the mountains to cool off in the summer. Flagstaff may be one of my favorite Arizona towns. :)
