They said this piece is rare...any idea what a fair price would be?

All catch words to justify high price...rare, exotic, unique, one of a kind, etc...my feeling is something is only worth what someone is willing to pay fot it..

Vetteguy already answered you I know.
But little trick is take screenshot off what you trying to identify then use Google lens ( outlined in first pic on my home page on phone ) then press that then pick picture and it will try its best to id for you, sometimes need drag box so gets all the picture in and usually very good on the ids then information on said item.
Can do with camera pictures or screenshots

I've read enough of your posts to know you do not just dive in blindly. Wild caught goni can be problematic compared to cultured ones so something to consider. Also the fact that the white eggcrate is blue so it may or may not look as colorful in your tank ;)
Yeah, i think I'll pass on this one...too many other amazing corals in the world that i could buy a few different species of for the same price and like you said, coming straight from Indonesia (I assume) it might not end up so well

The primary reason I'm curious about the price is because i just bought a Christmas Tree Worm rock for $45 from them that people were saying would go for a minimum of $150 in the States (some "rare" stuff goes for really great prices here)...they're asking the equivalent of about $150 for this one
i would stop comparing usa prices if you are in BKK. I just bought a 6 head banana torch for usd$38...in the states its probably over $2k...but form me that torch is not cheap its really expensive comapred to all the other coral prices..

Yeah due to the spending power of the money prices can feel dramatically different...the reason i do it is because I grew up in the States and may or may not be going back there long term so i want to take advantage of the opportunity i have to own some of the pieces that I'd never be able to justify paying for or able to find over there

Also, i guess another reason i like to have U.S. prices to compare to is due to the fact that they're fairly equal across the country (not always though) while here prices can vary wildly between two shops literally a block apart for the same piece (unfortunately they don't always have that same piece at the same time) so it's nice to have a relatively stable metric to measure monetary value with to give a rough estimate of whether I'm getting a fair deal or not
