thinking of tanking down a tank for a FW planted :O

so I have a large peninsula reef + a small nano peninsula
the nano as been on auto pilot the last 6 + months no fish just some inverts as to love the little tan and the plan was/is to make an invert dom tank.

BUT someone imposed a 2 tank rule to keep the house from looking like an aquarium.

I have always wanted to try my hand an a planted aquascape....I know I know this is a reef forum
I keep going back n forth.
if I go the planted FW I would upgrade the tank to a 3' clear silicone tank or i could tank that $$ and invest it in more coral for both tanks.
IDK I have been on the fence for 3 months now prob. will not happen until this fall anyway.

I want both but time money and the rules keep me from that.

Also a lot of work at first.

I had Anubis in a fw tank that grew very fast / I didn’t do anything at all for it lol so I’d recommend that

thanks for the encouragement folks. I am leaning towns it.
the other option was a sea horse tank which I have wanted for years

but I am leaning towards the warmer look of the planted tank.
