Looking to see if this algae is good or bad (two types)
Tank is only 1.5 months old with dry rock, live sand, 4 pieces of live rock, 6 Clowns and very small clean up crew.

1st pc is Byropsis, NOT good. Remove as much as you can manually and watch your nutrients. Maybe start something like Vibrant to help kill the remaining roots. Not sure abut the second one.

For the bryopsis , use fluconazole , fewer side effects(cyano) and faster.

The second pic , wow that's cool stuff, I'd start manual removal , the fluconazole might kill it.

All it take is one strand to be alive for it to latch on and go crazy. @saltyfilmfolks's advice will get you straightened out;);)

Thanks guys.
I just ordered the fluconazole. BUT, Will this hurt my Cheato?
Nope.

Effects thin walled thin celled alges, green hair alge is actually hard to kill with fluconazole

Thanks again,
I also ordered some Kent-M just in case the fluconazole (Reef HD - Reef Flux) does not work.
Any opinion on the Kent-M approach?

There has been allot of speculation about Kent-M and it's effects on GHA. It is said they changed their formula a few years back and since then there hasn't been any documented cases where it does help:(

1ª - Bryopsis sp
2ª - Caulerpa verticillata

The two algae belong to the Bryopsidales Order and both are sensitive to fluconazole.

Best regards

On my 10th day of Fluconazole and it is working just not sure if after another 4 days it will all be gone.
Any problem with running another cycle of Fluconazole after this treatment if Bryopsis is not all gone?

Also, the second algae (pic 2 above) is a little less and not so green anymore but it too is still holding on. I'll take 2 more photos on the 14th day and post where it is at.

Ok, treatment with Fluconazole is complete. Ordering Vibrant as a secondary.
Doing a 30% water change and then another treatment.
1st treatment got about 70% hoping 2nd treatment gets the rest.
This seem like the thing to do?

Quick update to above algae problem.
After 2 treatments it seems that 90% of the problem is gone with the rest being taken care of with 4 more days of treatment and 10 more snails.
