I have my frag tank plumbed in to my main tank, but my frags tank is taken over by green hair type algae.

My main tank is algae free. This ever happen to anybody else?

Yea they are fine

It may be the bulb I am using.

I think you may be onto something with the bulb idea rev....Is it a VHO, PC, Halide? How old is it?

It's a 150w halide. The bulbs are only 2 months. I went to change it out and think I might have put it in upside down. Dont know if that would have an effect. Anyway I just replaced it with a 20k ushio nipple down. So maybe this will help me.

I had a similar problem in the past and I identified the problem as the "phosphate" laden live rock pieces I was mounting frags on. The pieces were from an old bucket of dry pieces I inherited from a fellow reefer. After soaking a couple of test pieces in a container of water and testing the water I found the phosphates to be off the scale. I switched fragging to ceramic plugas and the problem quickly went away.
