The stand I am referencing I had back in the 80s and 90s.
So no build thread for it.
I would guess the plastic covers would make it worse, as it would retain and hold more moisture inside. If guess if they were completely sealed but I don't know that is the case as the arm needs to move in and out, so the moisture will still get in.
Think of the covers as a tarp over dry land, the moisture collects on the underside of the plastic, its the same theory in place here.

Back then the fans that were available were just cheap with steel bearings or parts.
They would succumb to the moisture and salt creep causing corrosion then fail.
I know they are much better today and ones that are hermetically sealed can be found but are not cheap.

This is my tank as of 2-28-20.
This is the last picture I took but It has some livestock in it now and I need to update.

This is my sump setup but again not a current picture.

will they deliver or do you have your own semi truck to haul that bad boy?:)
They are delivering it on Tuesday. Does anyone know what the protocol is for tank delivery, am I supposed to tip them? The LFS owner is bringing 4-6 guys with him.

Anyone know if a canopy helps reduce the rate of evaporation?
Not really as it traps a lot of the heat of the lights. I run 2x MH, 4x T5, and 2 reefbrite led strips over a 48x22x30 and I go through 2.5gal a week. I have 2x 80mm fans on top of my canopy that run when the lights are on.

I always tip the movers. If I feel they gave me a good deal I'll tip good... 20% of the move fee. 10% at least. With 6 guys, you might be better off buying them a half dozen pizzas.
