This huge worm came with my snails. I’ve heard bristle worms can be beneficial. Would this be good to put in my tank?

Hello this huge bristle worm (I think) came hitchhiking with a bunch of snails. One of the shells was empty and I am guessing he was hiding in there. Should I just euthanize it? Or would it be beneficial to add to my tank?

I put the snails in my quarantine tank. Should I add the worm there?

sorry for the dirty bucket, it’s mainly used for yard work and dirty water from new fish or water changes.

Mixed opinions really! I wouldn’t Chuck it, I’d add it to your sump/refuguim if you have one, if you search a thread on here called bristle worm bigotry, there’s lots of mixed views on them will help you make your mind up!

Thanks! I have a biocube 32. Would putting it in the back area be good. If so why? Is there enough stuff for it to feed on in the sump?

Yeah if you have a fuge, they will do just fine in the Display, but can get massive they eat detritus dead stuff.... all sorts
