Well here is what I got done by the end of the day. I did make it 60" long because I wanted to get a bigger refugium. The fuge section is 24" x 22" so I think that is going to be just fine for me. You can see I cut two holes for the external pump. I want to plumb the two together and join them with a " T " into the pump. Kinda like a swimming pool drain. If one gets clogged the other will still flow. If that does not work as planned I will just cap off one hole. Many have asked how I glue the acrylic. I use "WELD ON 3" cement. If you are going to try this for the first time I would recommend "WELD ON 4" . cement. The dry time is longer and will give you just a bit more working time. Both products are great for this application but I would practice on some scraps first and let the final product dry for 72 hours. It really does get stronger the longer it sits.

Pretty much finished the sump. Just gat to flush trim the top and start the water test. Next up is a new work bench for the fish room to hold this beast.

I figured why not make a frag tank since I had all of the acrylic and the tools were not cleaned up yet.

I know it has been some time since I added anything, but I have been working on this project. Here are some pics of the sump installed and water testing in progress. When I made the sump I cut two exit holes so I can just drain off the water into my house drain to make life easier during water changes. I am about 4 weeks away from doing the switch over. (depending on the hunting season) I have my new rock cooking for the past 7 weeks so I am hoping for a real smooth transition to the new tank. If you are close to the Pittsburgh, PA area, I will be selling a nice 75 gallon rimless tank with the custom built stand with the sump and ATO only. (last pic)

Love it! Be happy in knowing that is the last return pump you will ever have to buy... Those things just run and run and run....
