My hesitation about busting into my BioCube does not reflect how excited I was about the new lights! Love them! (And yeah, it wasn't that hard. Lol)

LOL!! You are so kind to be interested @cameronh!!

Well, there's nothing much to update lately because I'm an idiot and introduced ich into my tank, so it's fallow until April! I think the clowns and blenny are in a hospital tank and seem upset with me for taking them out of their more-interesting tank. Urchin, snails, and shrimp seem to be doing fine too. Can't wait till everyone can be one happy family again in the same tank!!

I just added more of the BC snap-in LEDs to fill in the extra slots. Nothing fancy, but I like the improvement!

Well tiki bird I'm glad to see you gave an update and glad to hear that your fish survived the ich outbreak.
Please try to keep on top of the updates, even if it's just a hi to let us know your still here.
Good to hear from you again.

    Nothing wrong with those.
If you ever want to look into a light upgrade and would like to keep the hood, check out Steves leds and select biocube.
They make great lights and mount right up to your stock lighting. I had some on my 14 coralife and they were great.

How much longer until the fishies get to go back home? Are they eating and doing well?

Hi all! Thanks for checking in @cameronh and @Maacc!!

Well, the fishies are doing well and eating great! They were scheduled to go back in the main tank in a couple of weeks, BUT I realized I messed up and dosed the ick medicine for a shorter than recommended time. (I think I did 3 weeks instead of 4.) Now I'm not sure if I need to do it over again or if it would likely be safe enough to just put them back in the main tank on schedule. What do you think? (None of the fish are currently showing any signs of ick...but not sure if that means anything.)

Not sure, I think to be super safe, you might have to re-treat, but @melypr1985 could probably confirm.

I think you're probably right, alas. What do you think @melypr1985?

Hi all! I need some good vibes for my sweet little urchin!

Tonight I was scraping algae off the glass and pulling some green hair algae off rocks. The water got cloudy and gross looking with all the gunk floating around. I got most of the free floating gunk out and did a partial water change.

My tuxedo urchin did not seem happy about any of this. He dropped his hats and spawned and now is on the bottom and has all his spikes down flat.

He's my favorite sea creature and I hope I didn't stress him so much that he can't recover. ☹️ I feel so bad!

Hoping the little guy pulls through. Even if something did get stirred up, know that getting that stuff out is necessary to keep the tank healthy long term.

Yes! Thank you @Maacc! I'm happy to report he seems to be doing much better this morning! He's up around about and starting to collect "hats" again.

I guess my lesson is to do smaller amounts of clean-up more regularly so I don't stir up so much gunk all at once?

LOLOL! You are very kind to ask! Well I've run into some trouble...

For one thing, hair algae overran my tank when I had my blenny in QT! He's back in the main tank again but doesn't seem interested in the algae anymore. I think he got used to the pellets and seaweed sheets in QT.

ALSO I have always gotten natural seawater from my LFS. It's been great so far! But for some reason the last time I tested their water I had bought, it was super low salinity! I don't know if they're diluting it or what. I need to go over and talk to them. But I'm kind of nervous I won't be able to use it anymore

So that's where I'm at. Lol Kind of frustrated.

I just bought Vibrant and used it yesterday...so far hasn't magically reduced the hair algae. lol
