Hello all you amazing human beings! Hope someone can help with the timing of invert additions.

I have 65 gallon cube (32x24x18) I am staring up again. Nov 22nd we have 60 lbs live rock and 60 lbs live sand arriving from TBS. Knowing this is established rock and sand, coming from the ocean, when should I add a few inverts? I won’t order fish until I have the live rock/sand in the tank. I wanted to get some life in there as the rock and sand should support it. But will there be enough flora fauna to support a few hermits and snails? I don’t want anyone starving.

I think the standard answer to this is when you have no more ammonia.

My tank with live rock only took a couple weeks to achieve this, and it was almost certainly due to die off from the live rock/sand.

Hiya,
Because we ship healthy rock submerged, there will be little to no die off and plenty of goodies on the rock and in the sand to support a few hermits and snails.

I live in the Tampa Bay area. Is using a live rock from the bay and some sand okay? Is it too polluted? I know millions of gallons of sewage had poured into the bay.
