Not a whole lot to write about down there right now. Have the couple of rocks i couldn't manage to make work in the display down there and a bag of bio filter media to toss back into the quarantine tank when needed. Luckily we have had good luck so far and after about 1.5-2wks of observation with the clowns and hawkish we felt pretty good about moving them to the main tank. I pull the first filer sock once a week and invert it to rinse out any food that made its way to the overflow before the fish could get at it. Outside that im still using the ro chamber, eventually im going to cut out a section of the wall behind the tank and turn the closet behind it into a little fish rm for all the equipment and a bigger sump.Nice man! Any pics of the sump area? Who doesn't like to see the engine right lol
Doesn’t matter where the problem is with all the money you spent on that tank I’d be acting like a baby.It was actually just the paint peeling up. It is facing the inside so I am not to worried about it. If it was the outside edge I would ask for a new panel.
Yeah this well be my last waterbox tank I ever purchase. The aquarium is great quality dont get me wrong but everything else was a big let down.Doesn’t matter where the problem is with all the money you spent on that tank I’d be acting like a baby.
U sure its not the tests your using?MIne is still cycling ugh, It seems to stall on the nitrites, I followed Dr Tims cycle method to the T not sure what's wrong.
Your tank is looking really nice. Can’t wait to see how that ricordea looks when it arrives. What are your procedures for adding corals? Do you do any sort of dip prior to putting them in your tank?Gotta say i love having a tank again. I can not wait to get some corals in here. Ordered up a nice orange and blue ricordea from WWC today along with some new members for the tank.
Yup all corals get dipped no exceptions. Im using coral rx, just came in today along w a Nero 3 from brs. Eventually ill have 2 Nero 3's on both sides of the tank on back wall for flow since the eventual goal will be a few varieties each of birdsnest and stylophora colonies in the tank. But while I wait for things to mature enough for hard corals ill be adding a few kinds of ricordea to give a little more color and pop around the bottom of the rock.Your tank is looking really nice. Good to hear I thought about going with a Nero 5 but figured the random flow created by 2 pumps would be better then 1. I was thinking about going with vortech mp10s but can't bring myself to spend 300 on a single power head. I can deal with a couple wires for the cost savings. That's what I'm running, 2 Nero 3's on the back wall, They are great little pumps.
Tank and corals are looking great so far, Tony! Other than corals, any more plans for fish?Little update. Stopped to check out beyond the shore aquatics in Muskegon on our way home from a trip to st Joe's over the weekend. Probably the best coral focused shop I've been in on the west side of Michigan. Ended up grabbing a forest fire digi, a worm brain? And a little shroom. WWC delivery comes tomorrow with a few more frags and hermits and snails for the tank.
