That price for the tank alone is okay, but not a good deal in the Chicago area. I personally would prefer tempered glass and not acrylic. I had a few acrylics and they scratch too easily, I haven't had that issue with glass.

Yes do it. I love acrylic tanks. Who cares it doesn't have a name brand stamped on it
D

what would concern me is the fact that it was a trade in, no idea how it was stored or for how many years. I would atleast reach out to someone like melevs reef and ask about storage and longevity being dry.

Tony, give Bluethumb in Saginaw a call and see what they would charge for a similar 75G acrylic tank.
I'd at least do that and weigh what they say vs buying that one at your LFS.

EDITED:
bluethumb builds acrylic tanks in-house. they have built several of their display tanks and may have something similar available.
Thanks ill check them out

Thier is no issue in storing an acrylic tank as the seams are chemically bonded.
I have had both and have 1 noname acrylic tank, its a 24x20x18x1/2".
Check for bubbles in the seams is the best way to tell the quality of the tank.
