Beauty setup, I lived in Halifax for a bit but I'm back in Ontario now. Just started my saltwater setup a few weeks ago and I'm slowly acquiring goods, tank is still cycling so it's still up in the air how the little ocellaris in there will do but everything seems well so far. hopefully one day mine looks as nice as yours does
Thank you! I'm slowly learning and trying to branch out, since I've been scared of failure I was never ready to make the plunge getting more expensive lights, fish, corals. But I'm happy with how it's coming along right now, and I'm going to add more frags where I can and see how it grows out!

Noticing darkening on the phyto - very exciting! I'm just wondering if the cloudiness is normal

I took a razor blade to the back wall of my tank today, I think leaving the black exposed instead of the purple coralline makes the tank look bigger. The cyano is starting to clear up too, but I'm also going to dose some homemade Coral Snow tomorrow

I love how clean everything looks once you razor off the back glass, it looks like a brand new tank :)

My tank was probably too clean. He was going for algae and the mushroom was small and available. He's been good otherwise.
This is the first time where I'm having "clean tank" problems, with no coralline on the glass the urchins get it from the rock and leave big trails of white rock behind

The tank looks sharp with the scraped back glass though. It's a sight to behold, what those urchins can do.

I'm going to buy one of those long scrapers so that I can reach in certain places that I couldn't with just my hand. I'm only 5' 4" and using a step ladder just to get the front panel spotless, and could only reach halfway down the back

What I need is one of those grabbers for moving plugs around.

Phyto update, not much change:
20220616_192623.jpg

Bubble tips are finally getting their bubbles back. LFS said they give $20 credit for big ones, but that seems a little low to me since I've never seen a nem less than $80

And a few pictures of the black storms, since they were begging to have their photos taken

@Chortanator nice tank!! You're having good luck with BTAs. I have a RSR250 too.
I wasn't expecting them to do as well in my tank as they had, it was definitely a surprise when they started to take over. In hindsight I wish I sold my nems for money, but the people who took them off my hands were very nice and traded me their live rock since I couldn't get the nems off of mine
