Hello friends,

I have a torch coral that has been in my tank for about 2 months and it’s showing some strange behavior starting today. The mouth of the coral is very open and the tentacles are retracted. Any thoughts on what this might be? Should I be concerned?

Additional note - My calcium seems a bit higher then normal

Thanks in advance any advice is appreciated.

Has been like this for hours on end or for a short period of time? It might be getting ready to poop. Before you do anything drastic you might want to give it more time. Hopefully it will bounce back to normal by tomorrow morning. GL.

Unfortunately I have not been monitoring this coral all day. I can comfortably say it’s been like this for at least an hour.

I do not target feed my corals. Is this the normal behavior a torch gives when hungry?
