Hey just wanted to get y’all’s opinion I have had this torpedo goby and purple fire goby together now for a month and I just saw today that the torpedo goby is missing his yellow fin do you think the fire goby attacked him? Besides the fire goby he’s been with a cannery blenny bi color angel and scopas tang for almost a year with no issues, also have never seen the fire goby attack him.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Can you post a clearer picture taken under white lights?

Thanks,

If the before picture is the one with the file name starting with 0458, then things look good. If that is the “after” picture, the fish is getting too thin.
I don’t see any treatable issues with the fins.

The 0458 is the after picture he thinned out because he was hiding inside a rock for around 2 weeks and when he finally came out I noticed the fins deteriorating he’s now out and eating and i haven’t noticed the fin receding more. Do you think I should pull him and feed him with focus and kanaplex?

Focus and kanaplex won’t help. You need to feed small amounts of food multiple times a day to try and build some bulk up. Feed as much as it will consume, at least three times per day.

Ok and if the fins are still deteriorating? Do you think feeding a nutrient rich food will help stop and bulk him up?

I would put antibiotics in the water if you can (in a treatment tank of course) and then feed it very high fat/protein foods like mysids (you may need to dice them up small enough). You can use Kanamycin, just not in the food.

You should dose every 48 hours for a total of 3 doses. I’ve not used Rod’s food, but have heard good things about it.

Melafix is a botanical tonic, not a true antibiotic. I've not used it is a reef. It is supposed to be reef safe, but I've heard reports that it isn't always so. My main issue with it is that people use it as a medication, in lieu of accepted drugs and it really shouldn't be used in place of antibiotics.
