This fundraiser makes me think about some the special Christmases I had growing up!

What is the most special gift you've received on Christmas?

For some reason the one gift I seem to remember from 60+ years ago was this brand new bike.
At the time I had a bike. It was pretty beat up, tires were always going flat, a few other things were not right, but it worked for me.
After the family had unwrapped everything, my dad said that he had forgotten to bring in a gift for me and asked me to go out on the back porch to bring it in.
When I saw it, I was shocked, blown away and speechless.
I haven't forgotten that moment.

What is your favorite Christmas Tradition?

The mystery gift! Me and my dad do this every year. Got the idea from my favorite show Psych. We each get eachother something that can fit in a stocking. It's all wrapped and ready to go. You're allowed 30 seconds to inspect the gift, shake it, smell it, whatever you want to do except open it. We then have until Christmas to figure out what we got. I've won twice, he's won once, and a few years we both lost lol.

What is your favorite Christmas food/treat? Mine is definitely my mom's cherry snowball cookies! A whole maraschino cherry wrapped in a warm, buttery shortbread cookie.

When we go shopping for the toys, clothes, and food that we give from this fundraiser, we spend a WHOLE day filling shopping carts. It is the ONLY Christmas shopping that I like...

There is just something about Christmas that makes people feel more generous, and this is a great cause to give to for the Christmas season! There are so many wonderful causes to give to this time of year.

Other than the R2R Toy Drive, do you volunteer or give to any other organizations for Christmas? @Gumbies R Us and I love participating in the Operation Christmas Child event with our church.
