My fairy wrasse (Wanda) was acting normal for the first couple of weeks out of quarantine. This morning she was laying on her side, but breathing normally. After leaving the house for a few hours, I came home to her upside down, but still breathing.
There so signs of disease or wounds, other fish are acting normal. Is there anything I can do to help her?

Can you tell me how many breaths it takes in a minute? Also, have you tried feeding it? Normally, an upside-down fish is moribund, about to die, but I’ve seen some weird cases with wrasses where they still try to feed.

It’s breathing slow, 1 or 2 breaths per second. Not accepting food, swimming away when I try to target feed. My hopes aren’t really high at this point.

You were correct. By the time you got back to the tank, my wrasse was being swarmed by the clean up crew.
