I need some advice, my trigger is bloated, lethargic, not eating and is breathing fast. No other fish are sick or showing signs of distress. Dealing with some phosphate, but everything else is good. He began swimming in a swirling motion showing three weeks ago, but was eating and acting normal. Last week he started showing signs of bloating, but he is a pig, i figured he was just having his fare share of food. On Saturday, I found him laying on the sand on his side. He saw me and came and gave a morning greet. Feed the tank and he went the opposite direction. Now he is in quarantine. He is about 6-7 years old and was the king of the tank, now im a little concerned. Any ideas, any advice will help. Thanks

Salinity 34.2
PH 8.28
ORP 389
TEMP 80
Nitrate 0
Ammonia 0
Alk 7.9

This fish is highly distressed and I am suspecting water quality rather than parasitical. I am suspicious of heavy breathing unless flukes and your zero numbers.
What test kits are you using ?
Any recent signs of scratching against objects, yawning effect, hiding suddenly ?

i use electronic test kits, hanna, Api and salifert
My water parameters are
Salinity 34.2
PH 8.28
ORP 389
TEMP 80
Nitrate 0
Ammonia 0
Alk 7.9
No scraping, no hiding, he even struggles to greet me. So he is still interested in his environment. The breathing, i suspect to be from fatigue trying to stay upright. Looking closer at him, i see that his body is swollen around the dorsal fin also.
water parameters are good, my sensitive angels are doing just fine. Everything else is eating, growing and no signs of distress. I found one article about constipation. He has a tendency to taste everything.

Everyone used say pour in some epsom salt , hi levels of sulfite and mag , aka laxative , triggers swallow food fast to avoid tankmates , make sure it's not to chunky

On August 22, I put him in quarantine and as of August 28, no poop and no change in his size. I was able to get a few pictures of his lower side. After reading a bit, they say epson salt works for freshwater fish but not for saltwater fish. Thanks fo your help

Correct on epsom salt theory. Looks like possible start of rectal prolapse. Try feeding brine shrimp IF its eating which serves as a laxative

Correct, Epsom salts in the water doesn’t work on marine fish, sea salt already contains a lot. You can put it in their food as a laxative.
This could be a prolapse/blockage. It could also be egg bound. Not a lot of options in those cases.

So he passed away today. A closer look at his anal area showed it was impacted. Not sure what he could have eaten. I’ve been keeping fish for 30 years and I’ve never experienced anything like this. I was feed rod’s and noticed there were a lot of large chunks in the package. I’ll start chopping it into smaller pieces or start making my own food. He was a pig, swallowed everything in sight.
