    looking at design there is a plate that appears to be covering up perferations? With holes in this wall you would be unable to maintain different water depths between fuge and skimmer. Looks like both compartmentswould equalize at 10" or so. Skimmer water depth would need to set and maintained in order to operate consistently

    @drtrash The small baffle plate that you are describing is used for balancing flow thru the refugium in cases where someone may be running high flow and want to quiet the flow down. It helps for flow control with algae as well.

    There is a seperate baffle in the last return section that allows for the skimmer water level to be set. They are independent of each other and have no effect on each other.

    Ok, i understand the purpose, so the fuge has two forms of overflow one passive (adjustable) and one gravity. Good design item not mentioned in sump description
