I recently got Triton results for my display tank and also I submitted a sample of my IO mix that I use for water changes. Here are the IO results. I measured the salinity as being right at 35 PPT, but I calculate the salinity from the Triton results to be almost exactly 34 PPT.

Yeah, the Si is almost certainly from my water. As I explain in the thread about my display tank results, I am on a well, and burn through DI resin insanely quickly, so I gave up on the DI long ago. I have happy sponges!

That is impressive numbers though for IO!
I never thought of having my mix tested.. good idea!
The next time UC has a sale I will get 2 tests one for the tank and one for my mix.

Very cool Jim. Thanks for sharing. Im curious what other elements may be affected by your freshwater too besides Si.

This is actually a very good way to approach the reefing hobby. Start out by testing your fresh mix and tweaking your setup so that your water is ideal! Thanks for bringing this sorta thing to light. I would of never thought about doing this.

I have just replaced my di resin and will test soon.
Source water I think is overlooked by many who don't use the triton water testing for exact element numbers.
Triton was the best thing I could have ever found. Thank you guys at UC!

Whats your plan of attack on the lithium? Have you thought about adding the silica buster from spectra pure to your ro unit?
He is on well water which I think is high in co2
At 40+ dollars a bag it will become spendy
