Just ordered the Red Sea Reefer 200XL G2 from BRS today. Have the XR15 Pro Gen 5 to pair with it. Can't wait till it gets here!

I will be going with FL aquacultured live rocks with this build, along with pre quarantineed fish suppliers.

I will need a Skimmer for it. Will be going with a heavy bio load.

This will be my first tank with sump.
Ive been using the simplicity 120dc skimmer with this tank its quite good imo

I don't know much about fleece rollers as the reefmat is my first. This is a brilliant piece of kit. It is definitely a keeper. I can already see the gunk it's pulling out. I love the app too. It's brilliant.

What exactly did you do to make it fit, I’ve got the same tank and very interested in batting one as well. Another picture of the sump from the side would help a lot. I’m not sure how it would work if I have to remove the black baffle separating the return pump and skimmer section. Thanks

Do you have the red sea reefer g2? The g2's have removable filter socks holder. Slides right off. Nothing to mod whatsoever. Even the corrugated tube has the attachment that links up to my downflow pipe on 200xl g2 perfectly. Truly plug and play on any G2 model.

When it's time to change out the rolls this is where it really shines. It is super simple and everything stays on.

Here's my log for the 1st week. I change the roll feed to the lowest setting and using roughly 9-10 inches a day. Get the filter roll replacement asap as they are running put of stock. I am hoarding them at the moment ....this device is picking up serious steam. Product of the year IMO.

Tank update July 10 2022:

Nitrate 2.8 hannah
Phos .01 hannah
alk 6.7 salifert
calicium 430 salifert
mag 1250
salinity 1.026
temp 77.5 F

NO3 and PO4 has been on the decline. Dosing Neonitro and NeoPhos now to keep up.

Growth everywhere. Coraline forming on my return nozzles. Purple on the nozzles, and i can see deep red and deep orange coraline growing in speckles amongst the rock.

Hammers , frogspawns , torches have already sprouted new heads. zoas and other LPS encrusting on whatever it can grab onto.

Almost time to move the GSP to the back wall and let it grow.

I am loving the variety of CUC i have purchased. All serves a purpose and they are doing it well.

New Gears:

Versa dosing pump set up to dose Kalk - along with Simplicity Dosing containers.

Picked up the Apogee MQ-510 Full Spectrum Underwater LED PAR Meter - Just did measurements on peak hours. Sand bed is getting 75-110 par, mid is getting 125-175 par, 250-275 on top of the rockwork that is 8-9 inches under water. I am using the Radiant setting from Ecotech at 40% Radion XR30 Blue Gen 5 with diffusers , RMS mount standard height.

Phosban 150- Converting this to use as a Co2 scrubber- I should be able to put 3 times the amount of media in there versus the Small Icecap Co2 scrubber.

Near future plans:
going to swap out the Reef Octopus 110ss skimmer to the Nyos 120. No reason other than the design and look of the Nyos has peaked my interest.

Livestock-
2 clowns arriving from TSM Aquatics on July 12. This should help with current small bioload.

Looking to add a Mandarin and a Leopard wrasse or Yellow Coris Wrasse after the clowns.

Not sure what I want to do with this tank in my office.

20g high , tidal 35 hob, heater, 2 powerheads. Was planning to sell the xr15 gen 5 when I upgrade to xr30 but it's on this tank now.

Thr rest of my tbs rocks is in there after a month in my brute.

I think this can be my frag tank, coral qt kinda setup.

Tank update.

not sure if my corals are sucking up all the major elements but whatever i dose into my tank gets depleted in a day or 2. The frags i bought just 2 weeks ago is already encrusting onto my frag rack. I will have to glue them down. I still dragging my feet on re aquascaping lol

I haven't experienced this kind of coral growth and coloration in a long while. As much as i hate manually dosing AB+ it is proving to be a great additive.

It's been exactly 1 month since I installed the reefmat 500. I changed to the lowest dispense length and that has helped stabilized sump water level and decrease fleece usage. At this rate I expect the roll to last 5 months. Game changer for sure. No more filter socks for me .

Thank you for the build updates! I have the same tank and on waiting list for the reefmat… I am curious, does the stock ATO reservoir still fit with the reefmat? Doesn’t seem like it from pictures but wanted to confirm so I have a good excuse to buy a tunze lol

Also, did you pick up your CuC locally or online? If online which website. Ty!

I am no longer using the stock ato reservoir. I have a Tunze 3155 for that. I got my CUC from reefcleaners.org I highly recommend reefcleaners. John is awesome.

The purple firefish i got from TSM Aquatics is doing fantastic! He eats like a pig, more than anyone else in my tank. He went into hiding the 1st day but after that he is always out and about looking for food. Very peaceful too. All my fish is super peaceful. 2 clowns, 1 purple firefish , and 1 yellow banded possum wrasse. All of them is fat and healthy.
