I’ve lurked in hundreds of build threads over the years and decided that it’s finally time for me to contribute. I traded a T5 light fixture that I wasn’t using for a 30 gallon tank that a friend had. The tank is 24x24x12 and I’ve been in love with the factor of it since he sent me a picture like 3 years ago.

Sorry, I have a ton of pictures on my phone but I’m apparently an old fogie that can’t figure out how to hide my keyboard to get to the upload button on a new post.

I’m using an old IM20 Peninsula tank as the sump and am in the process of of putting a new wrap on the stand.

I was in the process of switching the tank over when I noticed that the overflow box was leaking. I had tested it previously and didn't have anything wrong so I'm not sure what happened. I shouldn't have tried to switch the tank over at 5pm on a Sunday but I did it anyway and it backfired.

I was able to get everything back into the Innovative Marine 30 gallon and everything hooked back up by 11pm or so. That was my 2nd worst moment in reefing...what a silly move by me. I had some leftover Red Sea bacteria from another tank that I was able to put in to (hopefully) keep the cycle going. But I'm out of town for work Monday through Friday so I haven't been home to monitor anything. The best thing I could think of was to unplug the powerheads so at least none of my corals would be blasted while I was gone.

Still debating on what to do with this tank. I've put a lot of time into cleaning the tank & building a stand, but I don't really have any space to let it sit around to slowly work on it.
