Did you have any issues with your stand when you first set it up? I just assembled mine and the tank doesn't sit level. I can easily slide a business card under one of the corners between the bottom of the tank and pad.

Can you post some shots of the rear sump. Trying to get an idea of what will work, I get my 65 next week. Thanks

Mine came with a thin black foam pad that goes between the tank an stand that take care of any gaps like you’re describing. It was a rectangle the entire size of the top of the stand.

Mine did too but a corner of the stand is low...floor is level. Its almost like the stand has a twist in it. You can slide a credit card under or over that foam between the tank.

The document from JBJ is incorrect at least for my version. The usable width of the sump is about 4.5 inches. There’s “three” chambers about 8.5 inches long. The two on the outside are further divided below the water level into two 3.5 inch chamber. The picture below will show it better. I’m using the first chamber for my ATO, second for the heater, third has the pumps, and the last one has my skimmer output and input.

Things were going well then they weren’t. Dinos came and algae came. I found that a UV sterilizer and phytoplankton took care of the Dino’s and algae for the most part. I also got an apex to manage a few things and make a few things easier. Things have been going pretty well for a while and the new corals I added have been doing well. The Dinos killed the ones I had before

Corals are still doing well and growing. Not the best pictures but examples.

Also measured PAR across the tank. This is average values trying to keep the SPS happy at the top and LPS happy throughout the rest

Still using the UV sterilizer and the phytoplankton and haven’t had problems with dinos. The nitrates have been under control with slight dosing and more controlled feeding routine. For my lifestyle, I have to say the Apex has been essential for both control and monitoring. If you have a busy life, it’s well worth the money

No corals lost and getting decent growth. The branching montipora has become much thicker. Doing 9-10 gallon water changes weekly.

Thanks. Yeah, it appears to be. Unfortunately it’s been an up and down ride for the corals but it sure seems like it had the right stability when I started adding corals again. I’m continue to post updates

Two kinds of hitchhiking sponge. It’s spreading under the rock but doesn’t seem to want to be on top. Hopefully it doesn’t interfere with coral growth.

That is some wild looking sponge! Maybe I just haven’t seen sponges before :squinting-face-with-tongue:
it’s an encrusting type vs a ball or tube type that people typically think of. These varieties were in my old tank too. I’m sure they came over from some rocks I transplanted in this tank. These don’t appear to be problematic. I had a beautiful encrusting purple variety that liked the tops of rocks but it became a pest quickly as it grew and competed with corals for space. Glad it’s gone. Apparently, some or all have toxins that may impede coral growth but I have noticed anything detrimental. My coral grows at what I would consider normal rates.
