Update. So this weekend progress, while at the same time doing my basement lol.

150 Gallon QT tank is now divided into two separate tanks. I think I'm going to have glass cut for lids. But I'm going to leave back third maybe open with mesh covering it, so that it's not completely closed off. So I blacked out back of tank, but anyone have any ideas for blacking out the bottom? It would have to be something that goes right down onto foam? Also for my sump, something easier than spraying again.

Sump glass is now done. I have one extra baffle that I've left out(after skimmer) and might use later, but for now its staying out. Bubble trap I had glass bevel cut down to 2.5 mm on the two pieces that water cascades over, maybe help with smoother flow, maybe not, but looks nice lol.

Below my display tank, the sump area is now prepped and done. Soon will be water tight as best as possible. Sump will go down after I leak test.

And a photo to show my basement progress in the room where display will be visible

@scott11106 what did you use for mounting optical high/low in your sump? So is there a genetic bracket or what not that they make for housing sensors? Or maybe I just make up a DIY piece of acrylic?
they are made to be drilled in (need to drill a hole and then they self seal) but you can always make a bracket and mount it that way

@scott11106 can multiple fmm modules be linked together, then connect to eb8?
Also can the second aqua bus connection on a one link be used for anything to plug into it? Two ports on one link, one to eb8, one too?

yes multiple modules (FMM) can be daisy chained, and yes to second question also, the only thing that is strange is using the power port for some items can be powered through that port on apex modules but some (like PMUP) need to also have 110 power as they need too much power

What is a solution when you need more aqua bus ports? Can you go FMM to FMM to cor 20 driver, to EB832?

You should be able to daisy chain items together. Each device has 2 ports or more. I think you can have up to 29 modules. I'm not sure if there's a limit on how many can be on a single chain, but I don't think there is.

Something like this guys for wiring? I just spun this up quick trying to understand my planning. dang, on my display side I was trying to avoid getting another eb8 power bar cause there so dang expensive. But I'd imagine having extra power sources is good to have. Everytime I turn my head it cost more and more lol.

So how does this look? Changes, etc. Critique it please.

yes and the eb8 has 4 i think...
some of the items do not need to be powered through apex especially if they are hooked to the fmm (like the ATO pump),what are the filters?
i will review in more depth tonight

@scott11106 the filter are HOB for my quartine tanks. I guess they dont need to be on EB8, could just be off wall plug.

Eb8 has 3 aquabus connections if I'm not mistaken. What about ATO utility pump? It also requires requires a 120v plug in? Ontop of the 24v? In neptune video only showed the 24v connection? Or I'm confused

the ATO pump will work from the FMM power only
your hob filters would be nice to have on eb8 so you can manipulate them but you could put them on the same outlet, i do that with multiple items where i dont care to separate them like i have two refug lights and they are powered by one outlet

@scott11106 what utility pump do you use? I was think pmup from neptune, but there are some **** reviews online about them. I want something that's decent but not expensive

i use the neptune pump for everything i can and i like them so far. there are alot of good pumps out there and mine are under 9 months old but so far so good and i have 3 of them. most pumps are going to work good so i think you can get away with most any but i like the apex pmup as it is quite powerful for its size.

**REVISION**

My current wiring plan. Anything you guys see that I could do without lol. Cost cutting.......but looks to me like this is what it needs to be to run properly. Does this wiring diagram look correct?

Also, what would be go good redundancy for my two 75 gallon as far as fail safe for measuring temp/ph for quaritine area? What do you all do?

not my money but i would get a 3rd eb8 instead of the eb4 if you can as the cost is not too much more and then you have additional ports if needed. also as i sit now i dont have any automation on my qt except that they have ATO but i power them all directly to an outlet. i am thinking of adding one more eb8 for qt but have not pulled the trigger due to cost..lol

i would run the cor's out of the fmm instead of having them in line but that is me. I just use a cheap digital temp on my 2 qt's and i do not have any testing as if i need to i manually test those. however i like the idea of having them all automated also but again that would get pretty expensive but who knows, i may add them in later knowing me

Cost.......lol no doubt. But all worth it, or at least I keep telling myself that. Maybe makes me feel better about all the money I'm spending lol. But i love the fact of automation. Just need to figure out control programming once it's all in place, and ready for automation.

@scott11106 can you help clarify something for me. About the only thing that I'm mildly confused on as far as operation goes.
Your dos that is responsible for auto water changes. It draws straight off of salt reservoir correct. Your pmup agitates water like you said, one every three hours, for five minutes. So here are questions,
1-how is salinity keep in check in res if evaporation happens? Which would raise it
2- how often do you make up the reservoir?
3- are you automated between your RODI and salt reservoirs? Or do you manually transfer rodi to salt res?

I am telling you, it is well worth it ! my system is so easy to care for as it is automated and if i could figure out how to automate the salt making process and cleaning the skimmer cup it would run all by itself forever (minus some sensor and pump cleaning occasionally)
