Can anyone ID this mushroom? A buddy of mine has it and apparently they are quite hard to obtain. I pretty sure that they come from the indo-pacific but that's about all I know. Whatever it is, they not only rarely show up in the hobby, but they do not reproduce, or at least they do it in a way or so slowly that we don't know about it.

Any help?

Whatever it is, it sure is sick right?

That thing is awesome!

I know! I figure the first step to finding one for myself is figuring out what it is. I kinda want to say discoma but then again, no.

It's like acid trip's evil twin.

Just to be double clear, it is NOT mine.

Also, I'm not 100% the last pic is the same mushroom as the top pic. I'm really interested in the top one but we could look at both while we're at it.

It has the same rough texture as the acid drops do. I'd guess same species. I have similar ones in green and blue. Slow growers, very dense body unlike other discosomas. More like an elephant ear in that regard. That one's a beauty!

There was one being sold by GoldenBasket on eBay definitely Indo.

I saw it. It wasnt the same. It didn't have the purple splotches like this one. I would have snagged it if it was the same.

Discoma type for sure. You should sneak in and cut it and see if you can get another one going.

Not a rhodactis. Mine haven't responded well to shipping injuries, so I doubt it will appreciate being cut. My source brings them in from Indo.

Miguel found that when he worked at one of the wholesalers near LAX. I believe it was collected in the Solomon Islands....
