Unnamed Horror Attached To My Snail

This is not some sort of snorkel or “nose”. What sort of horror has attached itself to my Mexican turbo?

It looks like part of the snail? My ivory snails in freshwater had the same thing and would stick it out occasionally

I wondered about that too, but the other 14 snails don’t have this object.

They don’t take it out, only very rarely and I forgot the reason why

Guessing ulva, sea lettuce

Just googled , it’s a syphon to help the snail breath I guess lol

Home grown Ulva. I just harvested the Ulva culture today and sandwiched it between a piece of glass and plastic mesh that has windows cut out for access to the Ulva…an Advent calendar for snails.
