One thing about buying lumber and plywood at The Home Depot is that they will cut it to the size you want it right in the store before you buy it, just ask them.
I bought it pre cut. I don’t know if they can cut it smaller. I will ask.

@canadianeh the screws in your picture have the length of .5” and size of #8 according to the label. I just Googled the diameter for #8 screw and it’s 5/32”. A bit with diameter slightly smaller of 4/32” should be perfect for your screws pilot holes. Don’t worry about the length of the bit, it will be plenty long enough, just get the right diameter. You might want to return your screws for a shorter length so they don’t go through the wood. Maybe the next length shorter.

the wood thickness is more than 0.5” actually. I don’t think they carry anything shorter than 0.5”

@canadianeh how’s the cabinet going?
Hey man! How’s it going? I am actually just working on the cabinet. Coming to completion very very soon before end of this week. I will post pic here when it is finished. I am very happy with the progress so far. Going a bit slower with my little helper who keeps saying daddy I want to help this and that ;)

@canadianeh can’t wait to see your cabinet man!! I just finished mine except for the mounting on my stand. The paint isn’t completely dry yet but here it is:

Mine has orange theme going on too. Lots of people went with red so I want to be different.
@canadianeh a lot of people went with red I think because of their red and white Reef Octopus equipment. My skimmer is RO so I’m in a conundrum about whether to paint parts of my skimmer orange or not.

Lights look solid

Corals look even better

And the orange paint on some of the parts is a great choice! It’s really coming along nicely :)
