I added a second light. I will eventually try sps but for now I want to get everything settled in and mounted. When I was playing around with the light, I believe that you can grow sps.

The transfer went well, everything survived. I ended up buying a Jebao SLW-10 pump to increase the flow inside the tank. I still don’t think that the filtration is good on this tank even with the in tank media baskets. I think there was more room on the 13.5 filtration than this one. As promised more pictures.

The corals look great Fishyj! Did you block the bottom intake flows? I have heard this helps to push more water into the filter boxes. How do you feel about the double 3.0 lighting? Will it be enough for everything up to SPS?

I did not block the lower intakes. I think the second light will allow sps. Everything has been happy.

2) On the lower intakes I blocked them with silicone.

Hi there. Tank’s looking good! I have a dry Flex 32 sitting in front of me and I’m debating covering up the lower inlets as well. How has this worked out for you? Do you feel it has benefited your tank? Would you do it again if you had the choice? Thanks!

After I originally decided not to block the bottom vents I ended up blocking them after all. I was getting a film on the surface which now is gone. It’s easier to block them before getting your tank wet. I would use the black aquarium silicone to block them off. The other problems I had with the tank were using two lights which caused the tank to overheat and using it with too much white light which gave me algae.

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m worried about, a film on the top. It would be a pain to drain the tank to fill those lower vents in later for sure. I appreciate the info, thanks!

There is a guy in the UK on the flex facebook group that sells intake cover guards to block off the lower vents. I bought some after a few months when I got tired of the surface scum.

Oh, nice! I ended up not filling in the lower vents before adding water as I was still unsure so this would be a great solution for a wet/running tank. UK Flex group, I'll have to track him down. Thanks Lsuhunter!

You can also find some stuff on etsy for the tank such as lid props etc. The 3Deep guy sells on there also, just remember it is being shipped form UK if you order from him so takes a couple weeks.
