recently bought an urchin for tank and did not realize it has a disease or injury at the time. Can someone identify what kind of urchin this is and what disease or injury it might be and if it’s treatable.

Dont see a disease but looks to be a tuxedo urchin and often suffer when there is lack of food, high phosphate levels, even nitrate levels and low salinity

Looks like it is missing spines. Did you see loose spines at the bottom of the tank? If so, the issue may be new, if not, it could be old. These pincushion urchins can regrow spines, but ONLY if the cause of the original loss is identified and stopped. Can you post your water quality parameters?
