Hello I’m considering picking up a used apex 2016 model. I’m under the impression that it comes with a cap and it’s wet but the used ones on the forums and local ads are dried out.. does this mean the probes are no good or is it an easy fix?

FYI - Bulk Reef Supply has their own branded probes on sale now. Wish I had waited before replacing my Neptune one.

If the probes are dried out(with the exception of the temp probe), they are junk. They are supposed to remain wet, and stored wet.

Thanks .. for sure not getting a used system .. or atleast from him.. for the future tho, if i get the neptunes apex system and want to store them .. how should i keep them wet? like in a water bottle?

do you think the BRS one is better than the neptune one?

That would work.

I don't know. I purchased the Neptune branded one before I knew BRS had their own version.

I always keep the rubber caps from my probes, just in case. Water would probably work ok, though as originally received it’s a salt solution in the caps. Just google it.
