Used Red Sea RSK600 Skimmer

Hello! Long-time R2R follower/reader, but first-time poster and, of course, it’s to try to sell something! I have a Red Sea RSK600 skimmer that I purchased in late March 21 and used only until early May. It was a “rookie mistake” as it was (way) too big for my (also new) Reefer XL300. I switched to a smaller skimmer (Simplicity 120), which has been working great, but now that the tank is more established I want to upgrade to a larger skimmer, like the RSK300 or RO Regal 150sss).

The RSK600 was purchased brand new by me at a local RS retailer and retails for $449. I am asking $300 with local (near Lower Merion) pickup at a public place. I would also consider a trade if anyone has an RSK300 or comparable skimmer (unless I buy a new skimmer first!).

i’ve attached some recent pics. I haven’t cleaned the skimmer—no vinegar or other cleaners have ever been run through it. I also wanted to see how it was operating and put it in a bucket with some tank water and a bit of skimmate last night. Works great!!! In fact, I am REALLY tempted to put this back on my XL300, but the footprint is just too much and all but eliminates my fuge.

I installed a ball valve to control air flow, but I have an unmodified Red Sea air hose and an extra Red Sea Venturi connector that I will include.

Thanks for the interest and quick reply! To be completely candid, I’d consider it, but would much prefer a local exchange to allow the purchaser to see the product and not have any worries (for me or the buyer) about shipping or damage disputes.

Update: I ran this skimmer in my tank for 2-3 days while I broke in its “little brother” RSK300. I’ve also taken it apart and cleaned it. Here are updated pics.

I’d consider shipping it for the original $300, provided I can work with the buyer on agreed-upon packing and shipping methods.

i will take $250 for local pickup, mostly to try to get this out of my basement and into a tank where it belongs. I can’t justify going any lower than that as at that point, I’d be better off keeping as a backup and for the inevitable tank upgrade!
