Using it as directed. Tank starting to form very stubborn green film algae on glass. Using premium KP livestock and water changes as filtration. Heard this stuff is organic acetone. Is this correct? Why is the algae so stubborn to remove?

NOPOX is mostly ethanol and acetic acid (as in vinegar) with small amounts of isopropanol and methanol. It dies not contain acetone, at least when it was analyzed in the past.

Organic carbon dosing is not generally a great way to get rid of algae since to reduce nutrients enough to limit algae, you may be limiting corals as well.

I didn't see an improvement in the nuisance algae since I started the Nopox. The algae problem is not in a crisis but I've got only two methods of filtration going. Premium liverock and water changes. Please tell me I won't have an algae crisis.

Is this a newish tank?

If you have Algae add herbivores like snails. I have about 40 snails in my 75gal display. No Algae

@gbroadbridge tank is set up since August 24. Skimmer won't stop overflowing so gave up on that. Skimming works so poorly on nanos anyway. Have dwarf angels and lots of snails. What I'm so afraid of is not having a skimmer going. But it's been going strong without one for 6+ months.
