UV has bitten the dust, after 4 months, any recommendations on a fully submersible in display (including the pump) unit? No sump system....

90 gallon system, I've had 2 Turbo Twist, each of them lasting about 7 or 8 years each till fatal leakage. I moved to a fully submersible unit, because I wanted to get rid of the hoses required and a cleaner look that I can mostly hide behind rockwork. Bought this JUP-01 piece of junk. Bulb compartment breached with water after 4 months. I should have known better based on pricing. Anyone try this 'Green Killing Machine' ? I'm seeing mixed reviews on it online....
I usually go with a little 9watt or so unit, nothing too intense, seems to do the job over the years....
Thanks

I’ve been using one for about 2 months now, so far so good. The only complaint I have with it so far is the suction cups keep unsticking.

The 24 watt
Excellent, thanks much. Might just give it a go. No sump equals needing something in display unless I want hoses all over the back of tank. 3 weeks I estimate without and already a thin dust of brown algae on glass hours after cleaning.

I’ve heard good things about the green killing machine from others.

I have 13w in my 30gal, but use 2x 50w external on my 220gal. Why don't you like external? You have sump? attach to a return line.

I did read a post recently about the pins inside green killing machine (impeller) rusting and elevated antimony (from the plastic?).

This one is interesting. I like the ability to turn off the light but maintain flow. I run mine normally on timer with lights but this changes game a bit, flow could remain.....scratches his chin lol....
Reliability is important too at this point. Looking into reviews. Thanks much

Yeah we don’t have a sump either and I don’t want a lot of hoses and stuff hanging around. So far it’s work great.

Well I had the gkm and I liked it but the suction cups suck or rather they don't hold lol I finally took it out because it just kept falling to the side. Otherwise it was just ok for me. But I only had it on for almost 2 weeks.

Curious....as a fellow 'minimalist' do you run one? I find I have to or I get this dust type algae making an appearance with vengeance.
