Reef Octopus has produced a new return pump called the VarioS 10. Like the smaller VarioS 2, 4, 6, and 8 it’s a DC circulation pump with a wired controller and variable speed, only it’s lept up in power with a maximum flow rate of 16,000lph/4220gph and is capable of pumping water nine meters (29’)…

This looks very promising. Still unavailable at any retailer and @36V it will be harder to provide an alternate power source...unless R/O provides a battery backup of their own - which they should.

Is there any release information on this pump. I am setting up a 250gallon with a sump in the basement so need something with good HP and have had good experience with Rerf Octopus in the past.

Ouch at $999 I think Royal Exclusive is a better buy. 1 Year warranty on rotor vs. 2 year for the rest of the pump speaks volumes here.

Yeah I noticed that too
I like the Varios pumps - but at that price point, RD, Abyzz and others start to look much more attractive.

I use the 4 as a secondary because of its ability to run off 24 Volt backup but at $999 I think they over estimated the market.
