Is this a vermatid on underside of astrea snail?
Recently found one other vermatid snail in my tank.. this could be the source as a astrea we’re only added 2 months ago.
I don’t see standard tube structure on astrea the fan appears to come right out of the shell. Should I just remove the astrea or is there a way to get rid of hitchhiker?

Tube worms have feather duster like thing coming out that retracts if shadow over above and retracts if get close.

A vermitted snail has a tube like structure that i believe is spiral like at base where its attached and shoots out a mucus web that it filter feeds with and pulls in the web with food on it to eat is my understanding but will bump for a more experienced guy/gal to give you answer.

But if want to remove just put snail in smail container with tank water and use tweezers or a dental pick or anything like this to remove it.
If cant get an answer on anything and " in doubt then throw it out"

Edit: my unexperienced eye guessing tube worm/fan worm

Hard to make out in the picture, but what it looks like and what you are describing is a fan worm, which is completely harmless. A vermetid looks like this:

Correct. No tube casing on this one. Appears to have a hole in the snail shell.
So fan worm or feather duster is okay to leave alone?
