Hi everyone, finally getting this started, still waiting for a couple of more items like the Mame Overflow (hence the jerry rigged lily pipe and overflow box), but holding myself accountable to document this wild ride over the last 9 months.
All started with my very first tank ever 9 months ago, the heavily planted and overgrowing in the back, mostly to water the plants above and around it with a good daily misting, and as many will be able to relate, escalated quickly from there…
“Maybe one more, small puffer tank on a wood cabinet, they’re so cute, and then of course, maybe, add a reef tank, just as last one.” That was 5 months ago, and turned into what you see in front.
The whole thing was born out of a lot of inexperience and constraints, like the metal stand having those only 7 inch spaced pillars originally designed and welded by a friend with a canister filter in mind, it having to be free of any >30db or anyhow annoying sounds at night because it’s 2 feet away from my bed etc. All those constraints led to a lot of dumb mistakes but also some things that turned out well, and looking forward to sharing them over the coming weeks.
But first of all a big thanks to everyone who helped along the way, here in the forums to YouTube, the excellent customer support from BRS, Premium Aquatics, late MarineDepot and many more - it’s such a joy, especially today, to join a group of kind and dedicated nerds that are helping each other out so genuinely in so many small and large ways.
