Hello got back icp test few days ago and found it to be high in few things but especially high in iodine. Spec is about 30-80 and I’m at 393. I am dosing redsea trace Abcd 3ml of each a day to 250 gallon system. Strange to me all the other elements are not very high at the same time since I dose the same of all which leads me to beleive could it possibly be the 3inch square piece of nori I feed daily to my 3 tangs. I have read nori contains a lot of iodine. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. Here is the icp test and few pics of it does not open. Thanks

Just to confirm, your Red Sea Trace dose will Elevate iodine by only .01 or below per day, so that measured amount from ICP is more than a Year's worth of doses. I suppose nori could be more possible.

Nori does have substantial iodine, but many people feed it (myself included) and do not get such levels.

Is it a concern? I do not know. There are many forms of iodine with different properties. It may also not be accurate.

So I just started to feed nori daily about 3-4 months ago and noticed that 20-30% of the time it does not get finished or gets torn off and floats away not to be found. Many times a week I have seen my turbo snails eating it at 2-4 am so figured I was ok because turbos eating what’s left over. After seeing it so high yesterday I’ve since then turned off all my Red Sea element dosing.

I feed my Mexican turbos one 8x8 inch sheet of dried algae per day. No elevated iodine. Maybe the measured ICP value is off. You wouldn't be the first person to receive a bogus ICP measurement.

Also, one more thing. Cutting off all Trace element dosing (assuming that you like how your system is running) doesn't make much sense. One particular bottle contains the iodine so skip that one. That dosing was way too small to generate your I level anyway.

Yes I totally understand but my thought behind this was I’m also little high in nickel iron potassium zinc which is parts b and c of the Red Sea so since my dose is so small and I also do daily 3.5 gallon water changes that without any of the doses I might be good. Would run like this for 1-2 months then send icp again

I agree. That context makes very good sense.
