here are some hopefully more detailed shots. its incredibly dense and short maybe 1/8 of an inch so its hard to grab. its adhered very well you have to use a fingernail or a tool to pry any off. and the most I can ever get off is probably about the size of a pea on a good day. some places it comes off much easier than others.

It does look like red hair algae. I don't know why Vibrant wouldn't work on it.

You can also look into adding a mexican turbo snail. They have a reputation for liking this stuff.

A combination of the two could also be useful. I've found that for some of my algae, the algae eaters wont touch it until the Vibrant starts killing it off. Once it starts dying, they tear into it.

Well I placed an order earlier. I guess we can use this as a log post and follow from there and see what happens.
I would assume I would need to dose using the once a week method. unless you think I should just start at 2.
my only worry is I have a few new sps that are still getting settled in I picked up about a week and a half ago. I don't want to tick them off too much.
for as unorganized as the tank looks it actually turns a year old in a month, how about that.

Definitely start with once a week for at least 3 doses and maybe 4. See where you are after that. Unless this stuff is smothering some of your corals there isn't any reason not to take it slow.

How long after using Vibrant until macro algae gets healthy again? If I treat every two weeks for maintenance will the micro algae still suffer?

It can take a few weeks after heavy treatment before it fully recovers. Before I just recently increased dosing I was using it every other week and my chaeto was thriving.

    @UWC -
I have these dark brown stiff algae all over my tank . They are stiff and comes off as a matt.

Now all my acros are thriving but these dark brown stiff sometimes look horrible .
    PO4-0.05 and nitrates - 10-20 .

What kind are these algae ? Some form of GHA ? Callithamnion sp .?

Will vibrant be able to make a difference ?

That almost looks like a form of the cotton candy algae also, just brown. Vibrant loves those stringy type algae’s :)

1ml per 10 gallons 1x per week to start. You can absolutely continue nopox while using Vibrant if you want :)

I know very lazy as I am sure I can find the answer but asking you is just so much easier...I have been dosing twice a week for a couple of weeks and although not sparkling the tank is much better. Want to scale back now, can I just jump to once every two weeks or should I phase that in i.e. once a week for a couple of weeks and then fortnightly?

Hi, looking for help here. Have a major dino issue going on in my reef tank. Purchased two bottles of vibrant after reading success stories. First dose last Sunday. One of the bottles I received is labeled freshwater, the other for reef aquarium. Does anyone know if I can still use the fresh? Ingredients appear identical.
