Hey Guys,

Doing custom build using Aquamaxx Premium Cuboid Low-Iron. Made custom stand out of pine wood, and bought the LR45 sump from windrider creations Here are the specs.

Features
  • Low-iron glass
  • Hand crafted quality
  • Individually leak-tested and inspected
  • Polished edges
Specifications
  • Dimensions L x W x H: 47.3" x 17.8" x 17.8"
  • Volume: 64.2 Gallons
  • Glass Thickness: extra-thick 12mm glass

The plan is to go Peninsula type since its the current trend, and I recently purchase the synergy reef shadow overflow, here is the specs below;

https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/16-shadow-overflow-synergy-reef.html

However, the side length from the tank is 17.8 inch and the shadow overflow is 16 inch, it fits perfectly but no space for the return line. Need some help and suggestions!!!

Here is the current progress;

That's a good question. You don't really want a return in the side panel of the tank. And you want the return high enough to prevent massive drain back in the event of a pump failure...could you put the return through the bottom of the tank and have a piece of straight tubing go up towards the top, and then have your spout and hide the pipe with rockwork?b

Well,
I'm just going to toss it out there and feel free to shoot it down... ;Dead

The shadow has three drain holes, set at different heights.

Could two of the holes be used as the drains (Main and Emergency) and the third one as the return?

that sounds similar to the red sea reefer design? I like the idea :) is it feasible?

I was thinking about your idea, but ideally I would want to prevent drilling hole on the bottom of the tank.

Hey Guys,

Big update, so during RAP in Orlando I bounce up with my neighbor at Publix and he decided to give up on the hobby and gave me a killer deal on his Red Sea 250, with Bubble Magus Skimmer, ATO Tunze, Ecotech M1 Return pump, maxspect r420r razor led in addition to complete live stock. Now, I've decided to use my custom stand that I made for the Aquamaxx 64.2 Rimless tank and scrap the Red Sea stand. Here are pics from my neighbor's post.

Good Day Fellow Reefers,

Here's a few pics on my recent impulsive purchase of another reefer 250, (used though)...Check out where the stock reefer stand end up residing. :)

Came with full livestock
Ecotech M1 return pump
MaxSpec Led Light
Basically everything what you see in the pictures.

Looks great sir, but you need more corals!!! LOL

What is next for this project? I think a more reliable ATO would be a smart move. Gravity is nice for less cords and clutter but that float will surely end up being your worst enemy.
