Can I use a Viparspectra v165 on my 30 gallon reef tank? If so, what are the proper settings I could use? I also have a Current Orbit IC LED light, but was told Viparspectra might be better. Any advice is great advice! Thanks guys!

It's a great light for the price. My only complaint is that it's heavy and needs a good hanging fixture. As far as settings you're going to have to mess with it until you get what you want for your tank specifically. Start low and ramp up.

I’m not sure what you mean by starting slow. Do you mean start with low whites?

Ramp percentages slowly. You may see an adverse affect to your corals if the corals are not accustomed to this fixture.
You might like a more blue look or a more white look, either way start lower with gradual increases in intensity.

Got it! I’m starting off by running white on 5 from 10 am to 4 pm, and Blues at 65 from 8 am to 8:30 pm. Will gradually adjust the 5 and 65 as I go!

I have a similar 165w Blackbox and I took these brackets from home depot that the light hangs on and then put a shelf on the bracket. It looks perfect.
