I am adding it with acetic acid 99.5% that i make from it vinegar 5% for two months and corals looks good enough till now also parameters po4 0-0.06 in my 3000 liter tanks. Now when i get the analysis I am afraid that i am poisoning my tanks slowly. I tried just vinegar alone but it took long time with no success.I do not know the effect of brusine on marine organisms.
It does concern me:
Brucine is an alkaloid closely related to strychnine, most commonly found in the Strychnos nux-vomica tree. Brucine poisoning is rare, since it is usually ingested with strychnine, and strychnine is more toxic than brucine.
If brusine is brucine, i.e. strychnine, I am interested in where you obtained this alcohol.Hello
I want to ask if it is okay tho use ethanol 99.5% denatured with brusine to make vodka 40% and dose in my reef?
This is tha analysis
Where you see that this have strychninein itIf brusine is brucine, i.e. strychnine, I am interested in where you obtained this alcohol.
Sorry, I should have said a compound like strychnine.Where you see that this have strychninein it

Before i used to use bio pellets but it was hard to me to get the po4 less than 0.1
From chemicals company in my area. It’s not food grade but it’s much cheaper.Sorry, I should have said a compound like strychnine.
So, where did this ethanol come from?
Any suggestions? Because i use huge amounts in my systems. It may be fine, but I would not risk it.
Keep in mind that recovered chemicals are not necessarily analyzed for a wide range of contaminants. The analysis for brucine could just be the worst chemical contaminant, but not all. I personally would not try to save money this way. From chemicals company in my area. It’s not food grade but it’s much cheaper.
Got it. You have any available suggestions? I will try to find as Randy mentioned, any other suggestions?Keep in mind that recovered chemicals are not necessarily analyzed for a wide range of contaminants. That was all the ideas I had on the subject.Got it. You have any available suggestions? I will try to find as Randy mentioned, any other suggestions?
Maybe there is one option to get ethanol denatured with bitrex “denatonium benzoate”.
Is it safe enough?
I found ethanol 96% denatured with methanol. This one is okay? Can you find alcohol denatured with isopropanol or methanol? One such recipe is called 3A.
