Hey all, super new into this and just got my first tank, a Reefer 170 running now for 2 weeks. One thing I wasn't sure was how high should the water in the sump be? 1) lower or over the baffles before the return? 2) I'm assuming it should be lower than the sock filter.

Thanks

I would say lower than the sock for sure but the main thing is to be sure that the sump does not overflow when all of the return pumps are shut off. The water level in the display tank will siphon into the sump and until this siphon is broken, the water will flow into the sump. Hope this helps and Happy Reefing.

I believe the adjustable baffles are for setting the best water height for your skimmer.
