I want to send a HUGE shout out to my Secret Santa 2020. He/she/they send, not only a game we wanted, not only one but TWO Waze cameras.

One of these is going onto my sump. The other one on the display tank (If I can figure it out where to hook it up.)

Because I hated the Fire tablet and because I got a killer deal on the Mini:

My aquarium keeps having a temp issue. Every day it creeps over 81° (in the sump, a bit less than in the tank). Therefore I added a small fan in the sump. I hope this will help with evaporative cooling.

How do you find the fan with keeping your tank at a good temperature? Also how do you clean the 2 filter socks? Not much room there. But loving this thread. I just bought the same tank.

Thank you for the kind words. The fan works ok. It is not the strongest of fans. It was a cheap one in Amazon and I plan on upgrading it when it gets warm here again.

As for the socks, I only use the second sock holder. The first one is just an extra compartment.

You are correct that there is not much room, I am always looking at other builds to get ideas on how to fit more or what I have better. I don’t mind though. It makes it a challenge and thus fun.

This is going on as soon as I have time. (yes I still need at add the Waze cams too). This time of year between the nonprofit I run and being an owner/operator of my window washing company I don’t have much time to do what I want. Maybe Friday or maybe next week.

I spent about 3 hrs yesterday trying to get the seneye hooked up. To be honest all I was working on was the SWS and seneye router. After 2 hrs on the phone, on and off, with BRS they are sending me a new router. I didn’t go past that and get to the seneye itself but am hoping to do that as soon as I have the new wireless router.

If I have time today maybe I can get the web cams hooked up. It’s just a very busy time of year for my 2 jobs, washing windows and the nonprofit I run. January will give me some free time again.

So I am on day 3 of setting up the Seneye. (Not to mention waiting for the seneye, waiting for the replacement of the first seneye and the time in between emailing seneye to the time I get a response). Thank goodness for BRS, they have done so much more to help me through this.

I do want to say I knew going into this it was not going to be an easy set up, I expected some trouble. What I do think is poor business on Seneyes part is not having a US based customer service teams to help. It takes a day to get one question answered and I cannot call Europe to help me. That would be a killer bill.

Don’t get me wrong (I am complaining) I am not upset with my purchase. I don’t mind a challenge but now I just want to get it working already.

This issue I am having now it it will not pair with the app. I don’t know if I am missing a step or there is a problem. Seneye needs to come out with a detailed set of video instructions on each and EVERY step including troubleshooting.

I have to have this up and running before Christmas then I can give it a proper review.

So after a few weeks of working with Seneye and BRS, after getting a replacement for the first Seneye... I made the executive decision to return the Seneye all together. It should not be this difficult to set up a piece of equipment on an aquarium. Sorry Seneye, I will never again be a custodian yours and I will let everyone know of my experience with your product.

Just for full disclosure, IF, and that is a BIG IF, Seneye had a N. American support team perhaps the outcome would have been different (I doubt it but want to give an honest assessment of my experience). A huge part of the problem was getting someone in support. I am no longer willing to jump through hoops to make a plug and play device work.

End rant

onto the next exciting thing for 2021, the cameras.

Enjoy the hobby!

Working on setting up a Neptune Dissolved Oxygen Probe on my tank. I know this is not a necessary item, but I love this hobby and love to learn. I want to test some theories I have and therefore need to monitor the oxygen levels.

just need to get it working... Waiting in @Neptune1 customer support to get back to me.

The DO probe is in and working.

First, I will acknowledge that a DO probe is completely unnecessary for the hobby. Second, I know they are expensive and require routine maintenance, about quality. Lastly, I know I will get some people thinking I am rich or waste money. To that I say: “how I spend my money is my business, and this is my hobby and I enjoy the equipment and maintenance part of it as much as the beautiful fish and corals.

Now on to the fun stuff.

I hope to provide a review of the DO probe in a few months and I further hope that this Weill help me as I learn water quality and stability going forward.

Enjoy the hobby!!

Newest addition to the aquarium. He is large and in charge. I had to remove my yellow Tang as he was getting ver belligerent with my hands as I cleaned the tank. He will be missed but now I can have the CBB I have always wanted.

Looks great!

I'd love a larger fish in my tank. Having the clowns, goby and chromis is nice but I'd love to get something a bit bigger in there. They're all only smallish though so I'm sure they'll grow a little.
Maybe one day!

How long did you have your tang for ?
