I fell in love with Eel Island, so I partnered with my LFS (@New Wave Aquaria ) to recreate it in my man cave. I just purchased it today so I don't have much to show yet.

Here's what I'm thinking for my equipment list. Would love to get other reefers feedback.

Display: Waterbox 7225 Peninsula (white)
Rock: Carib Sea Life Rock Shapes
Sand: CaribSea Oolite 1.5” deep
Lighting: 4x AI Hydra 32HD
Heater: Finnex 800 watts Titanium Heater
Circulation: 2x MP40 and Vectra L2 return pump
Skimmer: Reef Octopus Elite 200-INT SSS
Controller: Apex Classic

So, I took @mfollen advice and modified the sump to make room for a Clarisea roller. What a PITA!!!! I saw reefdudes to it but didn’t know how much work goes into it.
Do I have to plumb in the roller?

I’m down to my last baffle! Or should I leave it? It would make sense to remove or water would flow over it and make a the sump loud

I would leave it, your roller will dampen your flow enough that the water will not move fast enough to make any noise.

@jblasi i ended up removing it after confirming with reefdude that he removed his.
Update: I decided to go with Dalua Great White Skimmer after reading many positive reviews. I also picked up my Vectra L2 from my LFS. My Clarisea roller and Caribsea is in order, so I should have them by next week.

That’s looking really good! How long in total would you say it took to remove all that glass?

I was doing it on and off, so it took 3 days. The last baffle was the easiest because I used a scalpel. Pushed the blade through the silicone and it cut through like butter. Using a scalpel is less messy. I would guess within 3 hours or else, you can get the whole thing out.

The Dalua GW is solid. Dead silent. You get the GW17 or GW22? I got the GW12, I should've went bigger.

3-4 hours is about what I expected barring any complications. How are you going to plumb in the ClariSea?

Dalua recommended the GW22 but I thought that would be overkill, so I went with the GW17. Seems like the GW17 is new because the instructions that it came with looks noway like the GW17.

I'm having my LFS handle the plumbing

That's weird. They recommended the GW12 for me (same tank as you). That's after initially recommending the GW7. Super heavy bio-load btw.
