Things are ticking right along. No changes really. I did stop dosing PO4 for a couple weeks once I reached ~.13ppm, but I've turned the doser back on now as it started dropping back down pretty quickly. Hoping to maintain ~.1ppm as that seems like a good place to be with my nitrates between 25-50ppm.

Time for some frag pics. Acro's are starting to color up and encrust nicely.

Talk about a big transformation from the old tank to new.
ReefReady Grape Juice:
This was part of the second sps pack added to my Reefer350. I survived my tortures for years and did grow, but never had color. When I purchased it in Aug 2016

It grew some, then nearly died. Then grew back, but never achieved and color.
Jan 2019 before I fragged and moved it to the new tank:

My BattleChaeto is growing well. It was a freebie from Adam that was a tiny amount when it arrived. Using a Tunze 8831 Eco Chic for lighting right now, not very powerful but getting growth.

Time to kick this chaeto up a notch!

Found a good deal on the older model Kessil H350 deep purple. The Tunze eco chic has been working, but I think it's a bit under powered for this size of tank. So it's been moved to bottom chaeto duty, and the Kessil is lighting up the top.

Spend some time yesterday cleaning pumps. Amazing how much more glow the gyres are putting out now. In the process I found a split magnet on one of the MP40's  But most everything is looking good. Still have a little cyano lingering in the cracks and crannies though.

On to frag pics!

And the kessil fell into the sump this morning. :( My fault for trusting velcro to hold it up. I took it out rinsed it, dried it in the oven, and voila! it still works! Doesn't appear to have caused any problems in the tank. Strangely the GFCI didn't trip

That’s very lucky and impressive that no damage was done and if still works!

Spoke too soon. Kessil fried itself shortly after turning on last night. Expensive lesson learned.

So I decided it was a good time to harvest, maybe a 1/4? of the entire mass.

I think you have your electrical components sitting in the cabinet under the overflow box where the pipes are?
If so did you ever considered having all the electrical in the other cabinet on the opposite side?

I haven't really given that much thought. I'm not sure everything would reach, but I could probably re-locate the majority of things outside of the stand.

Can't blame Kessil for this one, totally my fault that it fell in the water. I'm surprised it worked at all after that. I went ahead and ordered another H350. I was tempted by some of the less expensive grow LED's out there, but they seems too heavy on the red spectrum.

I got several new fish over the weekend. A friend was taking down his tank and I re-homed several fish:
Foxface
(3) chromis
pink spotted goby
pajama cardinalfish
bellus angel ;Joyful

I definitely wanted a bellus in the tank. The foxface I wasn't sure about getting along with the gold spotted rabbit I already had, but no issues so far. They are both very chill fish.

Oh man, that must have been frustrating! I guess on another note, it's more reassuring for the brand. I have future plans for a refugium and definitely have my eye on that light. Your tank looks stunning btw, love that fish variety. Thanks for the clarification!

Fun night... I decided to do a 20% WC instead of my usual 10%. So I rolled out the 50g brute trashcan and spent all day yesterday making RO, mixing salt, testing the new water, and then I rolled it into the living room next to the tank to do the WC later in the evening and left a maxijet running inside. Out of nowhere gravity kicked in and the trashcan was on the floor. 45 gallons of saltwater spreading across the house......

Soooo that was fun. Lesson learned, the 50gal brute is NOT stable on the dolly when filled with water. Keep your wet/dry vac handy folks because Murphy is a jerk.

And my tubing came off the return pump despite 2 plastic clamps on it. I know the feeling having water on the floor :)

Good new/Bad news kinda update. I lost my yellow wrasse last week and unfortunately I think it was my fault. I was doing a water change a few weeks back and didn't realize he'd already buried in the sand. As I was using the gravel vac I think it poked him pretty good. He stayed buried almost completely for 2 weeks, and then I found him dead. Super bummed. And to add to the troubles, my swallowtail angel popped an eye. Not sure what happened. She was fine Friday, then had a bulging eye Saturday. She came out of hiding today and is swimming around and eating, so hopefully she recovers. I don't see much chance of catching her to treat.

Good news time, corals are looking better again after a slight setback. Not sure what the problem was exactly, but ICP showed elevated Al and bit of Cu. So 5 water changes over the last 3 weeks has improved things.

Moved a frag of Kung Pao monti in a few weeks back. It was a piece that was growing under the frag rack, so it was almost colorless on one edge initially. It seems to be settling in nicely.
